Botox & Nucevia

Because Nuceiva’s formula is like Botox, switching from one to the other is completely fine.

Approved by Health Canada and the FDA, Nuceiva temporarily relaxes specific facial muscles by blocking nerve impulses, just the same way Botox does. Here are some of the similarities and differences between these two anti-wrinkle treatments: Both wrinkle injections contain the same neurotoxin ingredients.

at a Glance

Used medically to treat certain muscular conditions (including migraines, excessive sweating and more). Also used cosmetically to remove wrinkles by temporarily relaxing muscles. A combination of factors can cause facial lines. While cellular changes may be a factor, damage caused by free radicals from the sun and the environment as well as a reduction of collagen are all factors. Repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, or raising eyebrows may cause the skin to furrow and fold, gradually resulting in the formation of facial lines. Nuceiva works beneath the surface and temporarily reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines in adults which help them look visibly smoother.

Technology

The newest neurotoxin to be approved by Health Canada. Nuceiva is given by injection into the muscles in the forehead whose contractions cause the vertical lines between the eyebrows. The medicine is injected in 5 different places above and between the eyebrows. If no side effects are experienced during the initial treatment and the injections can be repeated after at least 3 months.

Downtime

May leave a tiny mosquito-bite like bump for up to a few hours. Or minimal bruising for a few days in injection sites. It may take anywhere from 24-72 hours.
